This day bed celebrates the unique beauty of Badger Face Welsh Mountain Sheep who have a long history wandering the mountains and hills of Wales. The breed comes in two distinct colours; Torddu and Torwen. Torddu (pronounced Torthee) means black belly and is mainly white with a distinctive black underbelly and eye stripes known commonly as the Badger Face, while the Torwen (white belly) shows the reverse colouring with smaller eye stripes. A hardy breed, the wool is very thick, long and beautifully soft, it lends itself perfectly as a luxurious doggy day mattress.
As a natural product, each Badger Face fleece is unique, the predominant colour of the Torddu is white with some black natural markings running through the sides. Some light shedding may occur with this product.
Regular brushing, vacuuming and shaking helps restore the pile and keep your sheepskin product free from dust. The hide side can be easily damage by incorrect washing, simply use a small amount of cold water and wool-wash as per the details below. Lightly sponge over the wool side only focusing on rubbing through the wool and not the skin underneath. Dry naturally and brush to restore pile.
- Only use a small amount of an approved Neutral or Mild Sheepskin Wash. If unavailable, then just use water.
- Do not use any Bleach or Enzyme Washing Products.
- Only use cold water.
- Avoid Direct Heat when drying, dry outside in the shade or inside away from heaters, radiators or fires. Using a clothes rack to lay the sheepskin flat is a good way to dry a skin. Gently reshape as it's drying.
- Do not let the sheepskin dry out too fast, it is best to leave a small amount of moisture in the skin.
