Large Wide Maasai beaded dog collars 

Maasai beadwork collar 2.7cm wide, to fit neck 47 to 50cm. (Labrador size breeds). Our collars are measured from the second, third and fourth holes excluding the first and fifth allowing for long term changes in neck size.

Maasai women in cooperative groups handcraft each individual collar, sewing beads onto  highest quality leather and lining with a soft goat's leather. Each is fitted with recycled, hand-cast solid brass buckles & clasps. Each collar is unique and is available in three colourways - bright colours, browns and turquoise & browns..

Traditional handmade beaded jewellery is an important part of Maasai culture. Traditionally the beadwork is made by women but it's worn by both sexes, and has important cultural significance. The beadwork an individual wears reflects their age and social status.
