Maasai Dog Collars
Maasai beadwork collars and leads are handcrafted by women enterprise groups (or 'Beading Mamas' as they like to call themselves) from areas around the Ngong Hills in Kenya. The glass beads are hand sewn direct onto leather using traditional Maasai designs and colour ways.
Each piece is finished by local artisans based in Nairobi, they glue and sew the beaded leather onto a second leather layer providing strength and durability and fix the buckles that are hand cast from recycled brass.
